A Heads-Up For the Ladies - The High Heels Poker Tour Is ComingHigh-energy promoter Lauren Failla is following up on last year’s concept and is launching a new dimension to women's live poker branded The High Heels Poker Tour. The tour is supported by a website at High Heels Poker Tour.com and features a club where a $30 annual fee will secures membership and deliver information on upcoming events, hotel discounts, giveaways, eligibility for free seat drawings, specials, and perks, such as private receptions and hospitality rooms. In only six months the Florida-based HHPT has confirmed its popularity with the fairer sex by expanding across the Gulf and East Coasts. On January 6 the HHPT hosted its inaugural live event at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, Mississippi as part of the World Series of Poker Circuit stop. A second event is planned for February 24, 2008 at Harrah's Horseshoe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Last year Failla brokered the affiliation with the WSOP Academy and this gave HHPT members the opportunity of winning their way to the 'Ladies Only' poker camp scheduled for January 25-26 at Caesars Palace, with membership of the HHPT the single requirement to become eligible for the draw. This was carried out on New Year's Day with Paula Ettline of Fort Lauderdale, Florida winning the tuition. In her report Failla acknowledges the encouragement she has received from Harrah's staff who, she says have been obliging in cooperating with her to make the event more interesting and exciting for female players.
