Flying Casino is Goal of Some Asian Entrepreneurs

Some Asian entrepreneurs have come up with an idea that smacks of being the 21st century equivalent of a riverboat casino or gambling on international waters cruise ships. They are planning a high flying casino that would be placed aboard the world's largest commercial airliner.

This was recently reported by the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus, which says that Asian buyers approached it with a plan to place a casino in one of its giant A380 aircraft.

There is no debt that this plane has the space, the range, and the capacity for a compact casino that could still be an action-packed enterprise. In addition to being the largest passenger plane in the world at the present time, the Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engine giant.  There was a maiden flight of an A380 Airbus prototype on the 27th of April of 2005. The flight took place at Toulouse, France. The first commercial flight of this plane occurred in October of last year (2007), and was  from Singapore to Sydney. The flight was made by Singapore Airlines.

The plane can carry as many as 853 passengers, and has already been given the nickname of Superjumbo having a record 50 percent more floor space than its closest competition, the well known Boeing 747 jumbo jet.

The head executive of Executive and Private Aviation at Airbus, Francois Chazelle, has said in reference to the use of gambling onboard an A380 Airbus that this is a business that is clearly growing in the Asian market and the interest in using the craft for gambling proposes reflects what is going on in Macau and Singapore. He added that this is not the first time that this idea of a flying casino has been suggested but that now it is starting to appear more realistic.

CEO Chazelle did mention however, that providing such a version of the A380 was no simple operation and that it might take as long as most of a decade before we would actually see such a casino take flight so to speak. That gives all those lawyers plenty of time to deal with all of the cross-border issues that must be involved in such an enterprise.
