Gamebookers's CEO And Ex-Founder Loaded With Experience

John O'Malia, who is the former CEO of Gamebookers, has received the title of chief games officer by Party Gaming. This is the first time that this title his been used. Gamebookers is a Bulgarian managed sports betting group that is based in Antigua. O'Malia, who previously headed Gamebookers, is a former City trader. It was purchased by Party Gaming for Euro 102 million in late 2006.

O'Malia began his string of managing sports betting companies as early as 2001. For example, he with 1X Inc, was behind the development of BetBug.com. Following this in 2005, as CEO of Trident Gaming plc., he managed the purchase of BetBug and Gamebookers.com.

When Trident was being managed by O'Malia and under his stewardship, it transformed and expanded the Gamebookers business. To do this they used aggressive marketing both online and offline. They also employed a combination of marketing campaigns including classic traffic-building and guerilla marketing along with brand-building campaigns. In August 2006, working with and combining forces with Nantes FC, Gamebookers set off its shirt-sponsorship deal. This followed a series of smaller sports sponsorship campaigns. It was approximately at this time that Gamebookers itself was acquired by PartyGaming.
